10:1 [hgb]  罗 波 安 往 示 剑 去 ， 因 为 以 色 列 人 都 到 了 示 剑 ， 要 立 他 作 王 。
    [kjv]  And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for to Shechem were all Israel come to make him king.
    [bbe]  And Rehoboam went to Shechem, where all Israel had come together to make him king.
10:2 [hgb]  尼 八 的 儿 子 耶 罗 波 安 先 前 躲 避 所 罗 门 王 ， 逃 往 埃 及 ， 住 在 那 里 。 他 听 见 这 事 ， 就 从 埃 及 回 来 。
    [kjv]  And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was in Egypt, whither he had fled from the presence of Solomon the king, heard it, that Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.
    [bbe]  And when Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, had news of it, (for he was in Egypt where he had gone in flight from King Solomon,) he came back from Egypt.
10:3 [hgb]  以 色 列 人 打 发 人 去 请 他 ， 他 就 和 以 色 列 众 人 来 见 罗 波 安 ， 对 他 说 ，
    [kjv]  And they sent and called him. So Jeroboam and all Israel came and spake to Rehoboam, saying,
    [bbe]  And they sent for him; and Jeroboam and all Israel came to Rehoboam and said,
10:4 [hgb]  你 父 亲 使 我 们 负 重 轭 作 苦 工 ， 现 在 求 你 使 我 们 作 的 苦 工 负 的 重 轭 轻 松 些 ， 我 们 就 事 奉 你 。
    [kjv]  Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore ease thou somewhat the grievous servitude of thy father, and his heavy yoke that he put upon us, and we will serve thee.
    [bbe]  Your father put a hard yoke on us: if you will make the conditions under which your father kept us down less cruel, and the weight of the yoke he put on us less hard, then we will be your servants.
10:5 [hgb]  罗 波 安 对 他 们 说 ， 第 三 日 再 来 见 我 吧 。 民 就 去 了 。
    [kjv]  And he said unto them, Come again unto me after three days. And the people departed.
    [bbe]  And he said to them, Come to me again after three days. So the people went away.
10:6 [hgb]  罗 波 安 之 父 所 罗 门 在 世 的 日 子 ， 有 侍 立 在 他 面 前 的 老 年 人 ， 罗 波 安 王 和 他 们 商 议 ， 说 ， 你 们 给 我 出 个 什 么 主 意 ， 我 好 回 覆 这 民 。
    [kjv]  And king Rehoboam took counsel with the old men that had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, What counsel give ye me to return answer to this people?
    [bbe]  Then King Rehoboam took the opinion of the old men who had been with Solomon his father when he was living, and said, In your opinion, what answer am I to give to this people?
10:7 [hgb]  老 年 人 对 他 说 ， 王 若 恩 待 这 民 ， 使 他 们 喜 悦 ， 用 好 话 回 覆 他 们 ， 他 们 就 永 远 作 王 的 仆 人 。
    [kjv]  And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever.
    [bbe]  And they said to him, If you are kind to this people, pleasing them and saying good words to them, then they will be your servants for ever.
10:8 [hgb]  王 却 不 用 老 年 人 给 他 出 的 主 意 ， 就 和 那 些 与 他 一 同 长 大 ， 在 他 面 前 侍 立 的 少 年 人 商 议 ，
    [kjv]  But he forsook the counsel which the old men gave him, and took counsel with the young men that were brought up with him, that stood before him.
    [bbe]  But he gave no attention to the opinion of the old men, but went to the young men of his generation who were waiting before him.
10:9 [hgb]  说 ， 这 民 对 我 说 ， 你 父 亲 使 我 们 负 重 轭 ， 求 你 使 我 们 轻 松 些 。 你 们 给 我 出 个 什 么 主 意 ， 我 好 回 覆 他 们 。
    [kjv]  And he said unto them, What advice give ye that we may return answer to this people, which have spoken to me, saying, Ease somewhat the yoke that thy father did put upon us?
    [bbe]  And he said to them, What is your opinion? What answer are we to give to this people who have said to me, Make less the weight of the yoke which your father put on us?
10:10 [hgb]  那 同 他 长 大 的 少 年 人 说 ， 这 民 对 王 说 ， 你 父 亲 使 我 们 负 重 轭 ， 求 你 使 我 们 轻 松 些 。 王 要 对 他 们 如 此 说 ， 我 的 小 拇 指 比 我 父 亲 的 腰 还 粗 。
    [kjv]  And the young men that were brought up with him spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou answer the people that spake unto thee, saying, Thy father made our yoke heavy, but make thou it somewhat lighter for us; thus shalt thou say unto them, My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins.
    [bbe]  And the young men of his generation said to him, This is the answer to give to the people who came to you saying, Your fa............
