14:1 [hgb]  以 色 列 王 约 哈 斯 的 儿 子 约 阿 施 第 二 年 ， 犹 大 王 约 阿 施 的 儿 子 亚 玛 谢 登 基 。 
    [kjv]  In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.
    [bbe]  In the second year of Joash, son of Joahaz, king of Israel, Amaziah, the son of Joash, became king of Judah.
14:2 [hgb]  他 登 基 的 时 候 年 二 十 五 岁 ， 在 耶 路 撒 冷 作 王 二 十 九 年 。 他 母 亲 名 叫 约 耶 但 ， 是 耶 路 撒 冷 人 。 
    [kjv]  He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
    [bbe]  He was twenty-five years old when he became king; and he was ruling in Jerusalem for twenty-nine years; his mother's name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.
14:3 [hgb]  亚 玛 谢 行 耶 和 华 眼 中 看 为 正 的 事 ， 但 不 如 他 祖 大 卫 ， 乃 效 法 他 父 约 阿 施 一 切 所 行 的 。 
    [kjv]  And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.
    [bbe]  He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, though not like David his father; he did as Joash his father had done.
14:4 [hgb]  只 是 丘 坛 还 没 有 废 去 ， 百 姓 仍 在 那 里 献 祭 烧 香 。 
    [kjv]  Howbeit the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.
    [bbe]  But still the high places were not taken away; the people went on making offerings and burning them in the high places.
14:5 [hgb]  国 一 坚 定 ， 就 把 杀 他 父 王 的 臣 仆 杀 了 ， 
    [kjv]  And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.
    [bbe]  Now when he became strong in the kingdom, straight away he put to death those servants who had taken the life of the king his father;
14:6 [hgb]  却 没 有 治 死 杀 王 之 人 的 儿 子 ， 是 照 摩 西 律 法 书 上 耶 和 华 所 吩 咐 的 说 ， 不 可 因 子 杀 父 ， 也 不 可 因 父 杀 子 ， 各 人 要 为 本 身 的 罪 而 死 。 
    [kjv]  But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
    [bbe]  But he did not put their children to death; for the orders of the Lord recorded in the book of the law of Moses say, The fathers are not to be put to death for the children, or the children for their fathers; but a man is to be put to death for the sin which he himself has done.
14:7 [hgb]  亚 玛 谢 在 盐 谷 杀 了 以 东 人 一 万 ， 又 攻 取 了 西 拉 ， 改 名 叫 约 帖 ， 直 到 今 日 。 
    [kjv]  He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.
    [bbe]  He put to the sword twelve thousand men of Edom in the Valley of Salt, and took Sela in war, naming it Joktheel, as it is to this day.
14:8 [hgb]  那 时 ， 亚 玛 谢 差 遣 使 者 去 见 耶 户 的 孙 子 约 哈 斯 的 儿 子 以 色 列 王 约 阿 施 ， 说 ， 你 来 ， 我 们 二 人 相 见 于 战 场 。 
    [kjv]  Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.
    [bbe]  Then Amaziah sent representatives to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz, son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us have a meeting face to face.
14:9 [hgb]  以 色 列 王 约 阿 施 差 遣 使 者 去 见 犹 大 王 亚 玛 谢 ， 说 ， 利 巴 嫩 的 蒺 藜 差 遣 使 者 去 见 利 巴 嫩 的 香 柏 树 ， 说 ， 将 你 的 女 儿 给 我 儿 子 为 妻 。 后 来 利 巴 嫩 有 一 个 野 兽 经 过 ， 把 蒺 藜 践 踏 了 。 
    [kjv]  And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give thy daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.
    [bbe]  And Jehoash, king of Israel, sent to Amaziah, king of Judah, saying, The thorn-tree in Lebanon sent to the cedar in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son for a wife: and a beast from the woodland in Lebanon went by, crushing the thorn under his feet.
14:10 [hgb]  你 打 败 了 以 东 人 就 心 高 气 傲 ， 你 以 此 为 荣 耀 ， 在 家 里 安 居 就 罢 了 ， 为 何 要 惹 祸 ， 使 自 己 和 犹 大 国 一 同 败 亡 呢 ？ 
    [kjv]  Thou hast indeed smitten Edom, and thine heart hath lifted thee up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why shouldest thou meddle to thy hurt, that thou shouldest fall, even thou, and Judah with thee?
    [bbe]  It is true that you have overcome Edom and your heart is uplifted; let that glory be enough for you, and keep in your country; why do you make causes of trouble, putting yourself, and Judah with you, in danger of downfall?
14:11 [hgb]  亚 玛 谢 却 不 肯 听 这 话 。 于 是 以 色 列 王 约 阿 施 上 来 ， 在 犹 大 的 伯 示 麦 与 犹 大 王 亚 玛 谢 相 见 于 战 场 。 
    [kjv]  But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongeth to Judah.
    [bbe]  But Amaziah gave no attention. So Jehoash, king of Israel, went up, and he and Amaziah, king of Judah, came face to face at Beth-shemesh, which is in Judah.
14:12 [hgb]  犹 大 人 败 在 以 色 列 人 面 前 ， 各 自 逃 回 家 里 去 了 。 
    [kjv]  And Judah was put to the worse before Israel; and they fled every man to their tents.
    [bbe]  And Judah was overcome before Israel, so that they went in flight, every man to his tent.
14:13 [hgb]  以 色 列 王 约 阿 施 在 伯 示 麦 擒 住 亚 哈 谢 的 孙 子 ， 约 阿 施 的 儿 子 犹 大 王 亚 玛 谢 ， 就 来 到 耶 路 撒 冷 ， 拆 毁 耶 路 撒 冷 的 城 墙 ， 从 以 法 莲 门 直 到 角 门 共 四 百 肘 ， 
    [kjv]  And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Bethshemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
    [bbe]  And Jehoash, king of Israel, made Amaziah, king of Judah, the son of Jehoash, son of Ahaziah, prisoner at Beth-shemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and had the wall of Jerusalem pulled down from the doorway of Ephraim to the door in the angle, four hundred cubits.
14:14 [hgb]  又 将 耶 和 华 殿 里 与 王 宫 府 库 里 所 有 的 金 银 和 器 皿 都 拿 了 去 ， 并 带 人 去 为 质 ， 就 回 撒 玛 利 亚 去 了 。 
    [kjv]  And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.
    [bbe]  And he took all the gold and silver and all the vessels which were in............
