4:1 [hgb]  众 子 阿 ， 要 听 父 亲 的 教 训 ， 留 心 得 知 聪 明 。 
    [kjv]  Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.
    [bbe]  Give ear, my sons, to the teaching of a father; give attention so that you may have knowledge:
4:2 [hgb]  因 我 所 给 你 们 的 ， 是 好 教 训 。 不 可 离 弃 我 的 法 则 。 （ 或 作 指 教 ） 
    [kjv]  For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
    [bbe]  For I give you good teaching; do not give up the knowledge you are getting from me.
4:3 [hgb]  我 在 父 亲 面 前 为 孝 子 ， 在 母 亲 眼 中 为 独 一 的 娇 儿 。 
    [kjv]  For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother.
    [bbe]  For I was a son to my father, a gentle and an only one to my mother.
4:4 [hgb]  父 亲 教 训 我 说 ， 你 心 要 存 记 我 的 言 语 ， 遵 守 我 的 命 令 ， 便 得 存 活 。 
    [kjv]  He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
    [bbe]  And he gave me teaching, saying to me, Keep my words in your heart; keep my rules so that you may have life:
4:5 [hgb]  要 得 智 慧 ， 要 得 聪 明 。 不 可 忘 记 ， 也 不 可 偏 离 我 口 中 的 言 语 。 
    [kjv]  Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
    [bbe]  Get wisdom, get true knowledge; keep it in memory, do not be turned away from the words of my mouth.
4:6 [hgb]  不 可 离 弃 智 慧 ， 智 慧 就 护 卫 你 。 要 爱 他 ， 他 就 保 守 你 。 
    [kjv]  Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
    [bbe]  Do not give her up, and she will keep you; give her your love, and she will make you safe.
4:7 [hgb]  智 慧 为 首 。 所 以 要 得 智 慧 。 在 你 一 切 所 得 之 内 ， 必 得 聪 明 。 （ 或 作 用 你 一 切 所 得 的 去 换 聪 明 ） 
    [kjv]  Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
    [bbe]  The first sign of wisdom is to get wisdom; go, give all you have to get true knowledge.
4:8 [hgb]  高 举 智 慧 ， 他 就 使 你 高 升 。 怀 抱 智 慧 ， 他 就 使 你 尊 荣 。 
    [kjv]  Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
    [bbe]  Put her in a high place, and you will be lifted up by her; she will give you honour, when you give her your love.
4:9 [hgb]  他 必 将 华 冠 加 在 你 头 上 ， 把 荣 冕 交 给 你 。 
    [kjv]  She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
    [bbe]  She will put a crown of grace on your head, giving you a head-dress of glory.
4:10 [hgb]  我 儿 ， 你 要 听 受 我 的 言 语 ， 就 必 延 年 益 寿 。 
    [kjv]  Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
    [bbe]  Give ear, O my son, and let your heart be open to my sayings; and long life will be yours.
4:11 [hgb]  我 已 指 教 你 走 智 慧 的 道 ， 引 导 你 行 正 直 的 路 。 
    [kjv]  I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.
    [bbe]  I have given you teaching in the way of wisdom, guiding your steps in the straight way.
4:12 [hgb]  你 行 走 ， 脚 步 必 不 致 狭 窄 。 你 奔 跑 ， 也 不 致 跌 倒 。 
    [kjv]  When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; and when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
    [bbe]  When you go, your way will not be narrow, and in running you will not have a fall.
4:13 [hgb]  要 持 定 训 诲 ， 不 可 放 松 。 必 当 谨 守 ， 因 为 他 是 你 的 生 命 。 
    [kjv]  Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
    [bbe]  Take learning in your hands, do not let her go: keep her, for she is your life.
4:14 [hgb]  不 可 行 恶 人 的 路 。 不 要 走 坏 人 的 道 。 
    [kjv]  Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men.
    [bbe]  Do not go in the road of sinners, or be walking in the way of evil men.
4:15 [hgb]  要 躲 避 ， 不 可 经 过 。 要 转 身 而 去 。 
    [kjv]  Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away.
    [bbe]  Keep far from it, do not go near; be turned from it, and go on your way.
4:16 [hgb]  这 等 人 若 不 行 恶 ， 不 得 睡 觉 。 不 使 人 跌 倒 ， 睡 卧 不 安 。 
    [kjv]  For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
    [bbe]  For they take no rest till they have done evil; their sleep is taken away if they have not been the cause of someone's fall.
4:17 [hgb]  因 为 他 们 以 奸 恶 吃 饼 ， 以 强 暴 喝 酒 。 
    [kjv]  For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
    [bbe]  The bread of evil-doing is their food, the wine of violent acts their drink.
4:18 [hgb]  但 义 人 的 路 ， 好 像 黎 明 的 光 ， 越 照 越 明 ， 直 到 日 午 。 
    [kjv]  But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
    [bbe]  But the way of the upright is like the light of early morning, getting brighter and brighter till the full day.
4:19 [hgb]  恶 人 的 道 好 像 幽 暗 。 自 己 不 知 因 什 么 跌 倒 。 
    [kjv]  The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
    [bbe]  The way of sinners is dark; they see not the cause of their fall.
4:20 [hgb]  我 儿 ， 要 留 心 听 我 的 言 词 ， 侧 耳 听 我 的 话 语 。 
    [kjv]  My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
    [bbe]  My son, give attention to my words; let your ear be turned to my sayings.
4:21 [hgb]  都 不 可 离 你 的 眼 目 。 要 存 记 在 你 心 中 。 
    [kjv]  Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
    [bbe]  Let them not go from your eyes; keep them deep in your heart.
4:22 [hgb]  因 为 得 着 他 的 ， 就 得 了 生 命 ， 又 得 了 医 全 体 的 良 药 。 
    [kjv]  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
    [bbe]  For they are life to him who gets them, and strength to all his flesh.
4:23 [hgb]  你 要 保 守 你 心 ， 胜 过 保 守 一 切 。 （ 或 作 你 要 切 切 保 守 你 心 ） 因 为 一 生 的 果 效 ， 是 由 心 发 出 。 
    [kjv]  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
    [bbe]  And keep watch over your heart with all care; so you will have life.
4:24 [hgb]  你 要 除 掉 邪 僻 的 口 ， 弃 绝 乖 谬 的 嘴 。 
    [kjv]  Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.
    [bbe]  Put away from you an evil tongue, and let false lips be far from you.
4:25 [hgb]  你 的 眼 目 ， 要 向 前 正 看 ， 你 的 眼 睛 ， （ 原 文 作 皮 ） 当 向 前 直 观 。 
    [kjv]  Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.
    [bbe]  Keep your eyes on what is in front of you, looking straight before you.
4:26 [hgb]  要 修 平 你 脚 下 的 路 ， 坚 定 你 一 切 的 道 。 
    [kjv]  Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
    [bbe]  Keep a watch on your behaviour; let all your ways be rightly ordered.
4:27 [hgb]  不 可 偏 向 左 右 。 要 使 你 的 脚 离 开 邪 恶 。 
    [kjv]  Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
    [bbe]  Let there be no turning to the right or to the left, keep your feet from evil.
